    Pole Assist Idea

After open heart last year, the meds give me balance issues. I've been looking at what others have done, but didn't want to have any more holes or welding. While visiting Gulf Shores, I ran into a Coleman store. Found an adjustable Trekking Pole and got a couple for $26.00. Should work great for my wife and I going from deck to driving seats.

After fighting balance issues and not wanting to take chances on the water anymore I got the ultimate "old man's boat", my Alweld stick steer. It really has made my time on the water more fun and lot less dangerous

I'm not there yet, but...if it were, I think I'd try one of those canes with four little feet on them.

Here is a picture of the grab assist pole I just added to my Tracker PT190TX. I positioned it so that I can steady myself stepping up or down from the front deck, getting into or out of the driver's seat as well as coming off the rear deck. It is totally out of the way when not in use.

I can’t say I’m at that age yet but Lyme Disease does mess up my balance from time to time...I get very lightheaded and have to stabilize myself. My thought, if you need it to be portable, I saw at CVS a “walking cane” but the bottom has 3 or 4 little feet so it stands on its own. Just a thought.
