    Confused as usual but best I can figure if I install a 1022xsv myself it is only one year warranty

    Before I bought my 7610xsv I called and asked. They said 2 years. So after your post I got curious and called tech support today. They said 1 year for self installed.
    My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

    That sucks cause if one doesnt have an approved installer near by what do you do then. BUT it is pretty awesome that they will pay the installation fees and such if you have warranty issues....

    Well sounds ridiculous to me.
    If I install it and it works for one year and it goes out in 13 months I have serious doubts that my installation had anything to do with it.
    I think it has more to do with what Fishin said. And even at that most will do their on install anyway as most units are bought after the boat was bought.
    Sounds more like a way to get around a longer warranty.

    It is what it is. I guess
