    Bass Cat / Champion

Has Bass Cat come out with this new model that people are referring as a bass cat / champion 203?

    Welcome to BBC!

It's called their hybrid hull. I'm not sure if they ever released it? You could ask over on the Cat board and maybe get an answer from someone at the factory.

Its still in the development stages. There was 1 on the water at Bass Cat dealer meeting 2 years ago , I know someone in the champ family did drive it. I wanted to ask Rick Pierce about it at this past year classic but he was swarmed by Don Barrone and others.

Supposedly that hull has been kind of put on the back burner due to some other projects BCB is working on. I have heard they are going to build it, but not heard when. As someone said they did have one at a dealer's meeting a couple of years ago.

Send an IM/ PM to MMosher. He's over on the Champion Page... He knows a bunch about the boat... Or just call Bass Cat... Dan

Champion 210 hull, modified top cap. Same story for their 198 Elite and the equivalent Champion.

Doesn't Basscat permanently join their top caps and hulls?

If BC would build a Puma with a Champion top cap, I would already own one.

Yes they do bond the top cap to the hull,,, but i was really referring to the layout of the compartments ,,,Love BC's hulls but hate the layouts of the compartments

Don't know why you'd give up one of the smoothest riding, best hull's in the business and keep it's mediocre top cap?

That said I saw this boat on Table Rock two years ago. It'd do 80 but I didn't get a chance to drive it although I've owned a Champ 203 in the past and loved it.

If Basscat would build a basscat that didn't look like a basscat I would buy one!? This hybrid boat baffles me when it comes to die hard Champion owners. You own a ChampioN because its a ChampioN, The hybrid isn't a champ but a Cat built to feel like the ride of a champ. To each their own but If I'm looking to replace my old champ with a new one, Charger is it.

    Exactly.

What everyone likes about Champs is the ride.
