    2001 Pantera III 200hp Optimax Cowling Latch's?

Both sides cowling latch's loose, come almost completely open even at 40mph - can they be tightened or do they have to be replaced?

The base catch or receiver for the cam latch is an adjustable part. It requires a 1/4” ratchet with a deep well 5/16 socket and medium extension. Once you look inside the cowling you will see the adjustment piece inside, loosen the bolts and shift the roller receiver that engages the cam arm. Pretty simple system and just don’t over tighten the cam roller base.

Almost all of the parts are replaceable. I rebuilt mine on my last boat. I also added a couple plastic washers(from Lowes) to make the latches smoother operating. It was not expensive.
