    Out of state used boat from dealer?

    Looking at a boat from Texas. Seller wants and in and out deal from his dealer. Has anyone done this?
    i seen found some info that stated a 4 percent tax but also paying local taxes. On a 45000 purchase we are talking about a large amount of money. Anyone know the specific on this?

    I bought a new boat from an out of state dealer. Had to pay sales tax on the trailer and have it registered at the DMV. Had to pay local sales tax on the boat and motor at the school board office. Had to pay state sales taxes at the Dept of Revenue in Baton Rouge. Really wasn't that difficult. Made some calls and found out exactly what I needed to do before I bought the boat. You shouldn't have to pay sales taxes in Texas if it is being registered in Louisiana.

    call Tags and Titles in st amant. i bought a new boat from texas dealer, and they handled all the taxes and dmv stuff . pm me if you like ill give you whatever details i can remember
