    Dual trans question

I have a 1199 on the bow and minnkota fourtrex with US2 but as I understand i still need the side image transducer to use SI as it won't work with us2(correct?) If I run a splitter to have both plugged into the unit, which transucer works? Can I pick a transducer in the settings? Or should I just scrap the us2 and use the side trans? Ideas?? Thanks!

Just use the HDSI transducer (XTM 9 HDSI 180T), it includes the same capability as the US2. The US2 is only 2D...no imaging capability.

    Ok thank you!
Is there any advantage to using the us2 for sonar like videogame fishing with a drop shot?

    Are you doing that now?

If you install Side Imaging on the bow, you will disconnect the US2 power and hook up the SI transducer power. You will get SI, DI and 2D from the new transducer. If you were vertical jigging or drop shoting with the US2, you can do the same with the 2D component of the SI transducer.

No I just got the trolling motor and hooked it up to us2. It didn't even Dawn on me I'd still need the si trans so while installing I left off the si trans and hooked up the us2 just curious if there be any benefit to having both hooked up w
via a mega Y as I have one of those.

If you put a SI or DI transducer on the trolling motor, it makes no sense to connect the US2 and have an extra cable to manage.

Also if you use a Y cable, you will get 2D from the US2 and not have a connection for the SI transducer's 83/200 kHz crystal. There would be no choice to select between the two different 2D sources.
