    Megabass Guys

Where do all you Megabass guys hook your baits. Right now I just hook them to the reel. Just looking to see if anyone came up with an ingenious idea. I would like to stop having to pull my hook out of my soft plastic baits. Thanks

Are you talking about adding something like a hook keeper to a rod? If so just get yourself a Fuji keeper and a lure wrap.

The fuji hook keeper seems to work fine.

Does anyone have one that doesn't require you to pull your hook out of your soft plastics?

I wrangled 2 massive backlashes last week because of my line getting caught on my fuji hook keeper. No bueno.

I use a Fuji on some of my Megabass rods and on others I use a zip tie with a mounting hole. Cut a thin slot in the hole and you don't have to take the hook out of the plastics. I put a small piece of rubber tape on the rod to protect it from the zip tie and keeps the zip tie from turning around on the rod.

Fuji EZ Keeper II. I like it better than the built in solution most rod companies use as the Fuji keeps the hook/lure away from the rod.

Depending on the rod, I use both the Fui keeper and these Calcoast clips. The Cali clip allows you to slip the line through without exposing the hook.

Any Local rod builder should be able to add one for a little to no charge. Not sure how that affects warranty though?

Here's a few ideas. I have the Fuji keeper on several, but I am not too crazy about them. I don't know why MB quit putting hook keepers on their Orochi rods. I have a few of the 1st generation with hook keepers and never had a problem with them.

Good to know, thanks! Not a megabass user, but I love the cal coast clips!
