We had the in The Woodlands for a few years then they voted against them I guess, they took them down. It’s crazy how many people run red lights.

No Problem I'm on fish...
They banned them in Ga back in 2009 But what pisses me off is our county paid out roughly 1.5 million to install them and almost $500k to take them back down..
They were in my city. They took them all out a couple years ago.

Not really true. The studies showed that more people started actually stopping for red & yellow lights......the problem is those tailgaters who don't want to stop behind those who decided to stop.
Yes, accidents went up, but that was because some people decided to follow the law so they wouldn't get a ticket, and others decided they didn't have to. The not me people were running into the I'm gonna stop people.
Same thing will happen at any intersection if someone stops quickly and the person behind them is too close....camera or not.
The only thing that made the 1st person follow the law and stop was worrying about getting a ticket from the camera.
If more people followed the law and stopped running red lights, then it'd be a non-issue.

All for cameras at state and county intersections. There is a county college in my section of town and these junior NASCAR drivers think that if the light turns turns red it is still OK to proceed through the intersection until everybody in their lane is across. The local gendarmes never seem to be around during peak times. I sometimes get the feeling the County told them to lay off the kids.
Agree, same here in Little Rock, we also need them to catch people littering, which has gotten absurd here on our streets. I get on the interstate for about 15 minutes for my morning commute and I suppose that before getting on the interstate, people think that the access ramps are for disposing of their fast food containers.
If they are changing the timing of the lights to catch more people that's plain sketchy.
People actually pay those things?! I've thrown away two of them in the last month...lol.

There are some around here, and I don't have any problem with them. When they first introduced them, they'd send people tickets for stopping and then turning right on red, which is legal in all Western States. Those problems were tuned out and all is well. They just put up 3 or 4 more in my town. I think part of it is trying to discourage freeway drivers from cutting through town...just because the freeway is a cluster at most times of the day.
Chris Christie got rid of them here when he was the gubner ... it was proven in court that the vendors manipulated the timing of the light change from yellow to red to artificially increase the number of violations. An engineer had got a ticket and picked them apart in court. A good idea on paper ruined by greed. Imagine that.
