    Navigation light question

Sorry if this has been asked before but I just bought a 1998 Tr18 and the previous owner ran new power wires from the navigation and anchor lights up to the Roto switch panel but did not hook up. He also disconnected the wires from the back of the navigation roto switch. So I'm kinda lost on how to install the new wires. Do I need to take the 2 grounds from the new wires and mount those to the ground bare on the fuse panel or what? Then what do I do with the 2 power wires? Thanks for any guidance and help on this issue.

grounds need to go to a ground buss bar or back to the battery. the switches only control power. need a power source coming into the switch and going out to the wires running to the lights you need to get working

There should be a diode in the circuit and from your picture I do not see it! You can get a wiring diagram from the Triton web site that will show the hookup! don't worry about the dates show on the drawing.

If the switch is lighted you will need to connect a negative lead to it for the light to work.

    https://www.tritonboats.com/content/dam/wrmg-web/triton-boats/manuals/wire-diagram

org w/ gry stripe is power wire to nav/ anchor light switch.

gry wire from that switch will power anchor light.

Gry with blk stripe wite will power bow nav light.

Blu wire from that switch will power instrument lights.

Looks like previous owner…left the reservation and moved wires around.

Found the diode I believe but really don't know where it goes. I'm a carpenter not a electrician lol. I do know a little electrical in houses but this stuff right here is above my pay grade. I wish I had someone close by in my area to take it to but I don't and this is the only problem I'm having right now with the boat.

Well crap!!! I think the switch might be bad. Finally got everything hooked back up and it's only putting out like 10v. All the other switches are putting out like 12.4v. So guess I'll be ordering a new switch. Thanks for all ur help man
