SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!
cool boat...
Nice looking boat. I wonder why they rigged it with the V6 4 stroke and not the ProXS 4 Stroke
Maybe the v8 is on back order and I would think the v6 would be cheaper.
Same as the regular Opti verses the 2 Stroke Pro XS. Rev limiter on the regular Opti was 5750 and on the 2 Stroke Pro XS was 6000 to get the extra horsepower. Same with the 225 V6 4 Stroke and 225 Pro XS V8. Rev limiter on the 225 V6 4 Stroke is 6000 and the rev limiter on the 225 V8 is 6200.
Here is a video with Evinrude that talks about the 10% SAE allowable variance with their H. O. (Hi Output) engine. All the Marine engine manufacturers do the same with their high performance version engines.
With that hat being said there may be a decent price difference that might make a difference for some. I am sure you will be happy with either.

I’d be happy with either too, I think...
I've always heard and been taught by guys a lot smarter than me when it comes to engines, there is NO replacement for displacement. I'll take the V-8.
From what I can see from the pictures, perfect colors. That is a beautiful boat. Can't wait to see one in person. I hope these new V-8, 4-stroke, Mercurys are pure bulletproof and trouble free. Time will tell. Never thought I would ever think of leaving Yamaha. But, I'm still not real sure the SHOs are the answer.

Just curious, has anyone priced the difference in the v6 & v8?
Kelly posted a video, 67.1mph with 2 guys, 52 gallons of fuel, 2 power poles and batteries. They are running a 24 tempest on her and he said that boat is getting a V8 when they come in. Not bad numbers for all the weight.
They both put out 246 hp on the 225 and 275 on the250 the v8 is 1 mile an hour faster lot better hole shot and mid range
I don’t believe the none high performance engine hit the 10% SAE allowed variance.
