2017 20TRX w/250 Pro XS. 2 poles, 4 group 27 batteries and 1 group 24, more tackle than needed but ready for a tournament, full tank of fuel and empty livewells. Doesn't matter which prop (Fury, Temptest Plus or trophy plus) or at what I height (I have a hydraulic plate), she ain't gonna break 72 going with the current and wind. 68-70 is normally all you will see on a good day.

I'd say it must be my boat but I know of several (9) within 2 hours of here that are just as bad or worse. We've run everything from 24P to 27P, worked, NIB and slightly used. I guess we got bad hulls or something based on the numbers I'm reading listed for comparable boats.

Any thoughts on getting more speed?

2017 TRX 20, Pro XS 250, 25 p Fury, 10 inch jack plate. Half tank of gas, only me in the boat. Best speed is 72 at 5800 RPM but very VERY squirrely above 68. Prop is 3 1/4 inches below pad; any higher and the hole shot is bad and it blows out badly. I thought about trying 2 1/2 inches below pad but I don't think it would even get on plane at that height.

Don't think you're gonna get more than 72. I agree with 68 to 70 being a realistic top speed for this boat.

Raising the Fury will only make it worse
I would suggest trying to lower it
    Fury's don't like it high

68.3mph so far with just me, dual console and about 2/3 tank off gas, still have trim to go but need to sort out the walk first. I back out at 5350 rpm as the walk gets worse but I need to learn to steer it better. TRX 18 with 200 Pro Xs and 25 tempest plus

I know every boat is different. My 98 tr19 runs 24 & 25p Fury's at 2.5 ptp. No rooster tail. If your 25p Fury is blowing out on hole shot I would use 1 large open plug. I think I would try 3" ptp then use 1 large open plug. The lower my motor was the harder it was to handle.

sounds like my boat at first but I have a 19xs w/ 225 merc. Top for me is 73.5. . I hardly see a triton perform at its best at over 3" ptp. I would try out a fury 25p 4 blade and raise your ptp to at least 3. You can try plugging you your 3 blade now if you have holeshot issues.

Given the load your running and the fact that’s not a bull designed with speed is the primary goal I’d say you’re doing pretty dern good.

I am just curious what I 'should' be getting for speeds out of my boat and set up. It seems like it should be better than what I am currently getting. I have a 2004 Triton TR 20X, 2008 Mercury Opti 225, 2 Talons, 3 BlueTop batteries and Batteries Plus X-2 Cranking battery, small load, and I have Level 1 Mercmonitor. I also have the new Fury 24P 4 blade prop. I have a Hijacker 6" jack plate. The most I have gotten my boat too is around 65 MPH. Can anyone tell me what I 'SHOULD" be getting with my boat? I feel I should be hitting 70+ at least with my hull and motor. I had my compression checked and all between 100 and 110. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

fastest recorded was 76.8 gps full tank of gas full tournament load with only myself but have run 78 with a little more room but I had no fuel no gear and only me by myself but cant claim it because it was via speedometer after I installed new poles, humminbirds and hydrolic jack plate I hit my fastest this weekend right under 75 with 31 gal of fuel and tournament load

2017 Triton 20 TRX Pat. 3 quarter tank of gas, heavy tackle load. Mercury 250 pro xs, 25 fury, 10 inch z lock. 72 mph/gps at 5650. My boat does not walk much at all.

Going to try a 25 tempest, imho they perform better on this boat. I can not go up much more on my plate.

    have a 2018 Triton19trx with a Mercury 225hp Optimax.
I am using a Fury 3 blade 24p with two power pole blades and 4 batteries.
Hole shot is good, but I am getting only 60mph and my analog rpms r over 6000 based on the analog tachometer.
I am thinking I need a 25p Fury or higher. Any suggestions?
