2021 21 trx prop to pad issues

So i have a 2021 21 trx with the 250 merc 4 stroke. Right now my prop to pad Is 4.5 inches with the T and H zlock jack plate as high as it will go. As you might guess, this gal is slow. 62 is pushing it and only hitting about 5200 rpms. 23 pitch fury 3 blade as well.

Untill I can afford to get the bobs hydro plate I want, I at a loss as how to get more speed. Anyone had this issue with zlock or have any ideas?

raise to 3.25 below and retry it. engine is mounted too low on plate if plate will not raise it up to 3 below

What hole is the motor mounted to on the plate? Like mentioned sounds like the motor is mounted too low on the jackplate

You will need to remount the motor higher and switch to a Tempest as well.

Yeah I measured correctly. The motor is mounted in the middle holes to the jack plate so if I moved it, I could get Maybe another inch of height.

3-3.5 below should be a sweet spot to be in

That's what I've heard. I called the shop I use and they said it would be 250 to change it. I'll probably just deal with it till I can get the hydro I want. Before I adjusted it it was at 5.75, that's how I got it from the dealership. Seems kinda crazy

even moving engine up one hole should be higher than you are saying -- something seems to be off somewhere else maybe?

I'm not sure where it could be. I'm confident in my measurements. I leveled the boat and the motor and measured to centerline on the prop and then measured to the bottom of the pad, both in reference to the ground. The zlock claims 5 inches of adjustment and I've used every bit of it. The motor being mounted in the middle of 5 holes seems to be the issue, but I'd rather save the money to get it fixed and put it towards a bobs hydro plate. The 5.75 I mentioned was where it was stock from the dealership. I raised it as high as I could a few days ago and am at 4.5 now

a manual plate should give you all the adjustment that is needed. hyd plate has about the same amount of travel

Well, the manual I have does not. As soon as I get the money saved I'll be getting a hydraulic. I don't think I've ever run into anyone saying they are a waste, let alone 2 someone's in one thread.

I think your PTP measurement is probably wrong. I've never seen one come setup with that kind of PTP measurement. They are usually around 3" PTP. Fury props run good a little deep. That's why I asked if it had good lift.

Well, I can accept i measured wrong. I leveled the boat. I leveled the motor. centerline of prop to ground is 10 inches. From ground to bottom of pad is 14.5 inches. Did I miss something? I thought that was how it was supposed to be measured?

What seems odd to me is that your motor is mounted in the middle holes and is still too low. I’m pretty sure that most of them come from the factory with the motor mounted in the middle of the 5 holes. I wonder if you’re not getting 100% throttle. Perhaps maybe have your dealer check the demand linear.

I'm not sure if the shop I go to can do that but I'll ask them. Either way, 4.5 p2p is still too much. Other guys I fish with tell when they pass me that my boat doesn't get up out of the water enough. I hadn't even considered it might be a throttle issue

are you measuring from the hull at its lowest point below the drain plug to the floor when you’re doing a PTP measurement?
