Will post the numbers at this position when I get a chance.
Well got to the lake yesterday. High school tourney out there and lots of boat traffic but much less wind. Was able to reach 62.5 around 5900 rpms. Couldn't really run it WOT for long with all of the boats crowded on that small lake but it was an improvement from previous outing. I lowered it a little more to see what that would do. I thought I came down 1/8 but after tightening everything back up on the jackplate it was probably closer to 1/16 than 1/8. Oh well I will try that and see how it does before moving it again. I am going to zero in on it sooner or later.

Update: Not sure what has happened but hole shot was horrible compared to what is has been. Don't know if it was from lowering the motor that 1/16 inch or what but I wouldn't think that little would make that big a difference. No room to really test top speed on the lake I was on. Hole shot was the worst it has ever been since purchasing the boat. Water temp was 75 so is the warmest I have seen too. I am going back to the large prop plugs (dropped to the medium when I had the motor set higher and didn't see any ill effects). I will see if I get the hole shot back. This is the lowest the motor has been set with the medium plugs. If that doesn't do it I will raise the motor backup that 1/16 and see what it happens.

Well got the Large diameter prop plugs in and it does make a difference in the hole shot from the medium ones. Had it on the lake on 5/1 and hole shot was much better and seemed back to normal. Not much wind at all but boat traffic way up. Bunch of skiers and tubers. So after lowering the jackplate, gas not all the way full but gas gauge still showed full, water temp 78 or 79 and replacing the prop plugs from medium to large I get the results below. More RPM's and speed. Hmm. May have to lower it another 1/16 inch and see what happens.

Well bware I have been slowly moving the jack plate back down. 2.5 was ok but still had some prop slip while turning left so just moved it down again. Actually my measurement marks have really been close. I moved it back down to where I had the original mark on the jack plate and went ahead and remeasured P2P. Measured it in 16th and it came out to be 2.75 inches. Will try this height and see how it does. I have been saying I am creeping up on your measurement.

Curious what your speeds and RPMs will be with summer air temps. Are you still running a 22” Tempest? After I had mine blueprinted the holeshot is slightly improved but top speed and RPMs are about the same. This was by myself, livewells full, 2/3 tank of fuel, 76F air temp, 1400’ elevation:

I am still seriously considering a prop change for better overall performance.

Hey beware. I am still using the tempest plus 22. My speed shown above (63 with 5950 rpm's) was with air temp in the 90's and water temp in the low 80's full gas and tackle by myself with empty livewells. The mark on my jackplate i have it on now is an original mark and was one of the best positions I had. It was the position when I was able to get over 63 but haven't had a chance to try it since I lowered it back to that position and with these hotter temps. I forgot to add my elevation is close to 150'

    Need some advice:
    99 tr-21
    07 250 pro xs
    24p fury
    Atlas Jack plate
    5800 rpm
    2 8’ PP blades
112# ultrex on front , 3 heavy AGM’s for TM
    Heavy cranking battery

boat is loaded fairly heavy with gear, but cannot break 70 mph.
I just don’t feel like now is lifting like it should and rooster tail is really low.
Played around with prop vent plugs and did help holeshot- however boat doesn’t want to get on plane
with two livewells with fish and 2 guys. I know this boat and motor is capable of much more than that. Tried a lot of trim and Jack plate adjustments but sure haven’t found the right set up. Can’t wait for weather to warm up here in northern Indiana to work on setup, try different props, etc. Have A 26P trophy plus I can try, but haven’t messed with yet. Any suggestions?

189 TrX 175 ProXS 4-stroke. With a 22” Tempest I was seeing 61-62 @ 5800rpm by myself, 58-60 @ 5740 with a partner. Switched to a 22” Bravo I FS and now get 58.5 @ 5920 rpm, but didn’t change with or without partner. Easier to drive with the Bravo for sure, and planes better at slower speeds. Top speed loss is a bummer but it drives so much better in all other facets. I might try raising the engine a little, currently at about 2 7/8” PTP.

Fairly new to the community ..... picked up a 2017 19TRX Patriot back in April. Has a 2017 Merc 225 ProXS 2 Stroke on it with a 10" Atlas Hydraulic jackplate, 2 8' Blades, and a combo of Lithium and AGM batteries. Best I have been able to get out of it has been with a 24p Fury 3 Blade, half tank of gas, empty livewells, my normal tackle load(which is A LOT) ... was 67mph turning 5600rpm's with a 3.25" PTP at the end of summer when the water temp had gone back down to 88* or so. I can raise the plate to get my PTP around 2.75-2.5" and get my rpm's up to 5800-5900, but my speed will drop to around 64-65mph no matter how much I play with the trim. I tried a 25p Tempest Plus, but couldn't get over 5400rpm's out of the motor and around 63-64mph max out of it no matter what adjustments I made. Had a High School tournament this past weekend and experimented with taking all my tackle out and just letting the kid fishing bring his tackle bag and 6 rods he wanted to see if I could get some more bow lift and more speed out of it, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Water temp has dropped down to 67* here and the best I was able to get out of it was 66mph.

    [QUOTE=RacingGator;833027]Will,
Get two inch setback plate, for total of 8" setback, and set of trim extenders.
Then when you have the nose up, you will hit the rev limiter, next you will
need a 26" Tempest worked by Mark Croxton, (BBC PROP MODERATOR).
Then you will be running 74 or 75 gps tournament loaded.

Setback plate and trim extenders relatively cheap. Mark can work your
    25" Tempest to 26" for $155.00.

Please explain "trim extenders" and setting of them. I have a 2009 21x3 with 2010 ProXS 250 running a Merc Trophy Plus 4 blade only getting 62-63 mph. 8" manual JP
