    Help with speed 20trx

So I have a 2019 20 TRX patriot it’s got a 250 pro XS four stroke on it. Last year I switch to all lithiums and I have lost 8-10 mph speed. I have re-distributed all my tackle to the back and even put 150 pounds of sand in the back of it and I’m still not getting the speed I used to before. What kind of mods have Anyone made in similar situation such as getting the prop worked with some more cup or adding transom wedges?

Daing! 10 mph loss? That would make me wanna put the old batteries back in there and see if the speed comes back. If it don’t there’s gotta be some other coincidental thing happened to cause that. Ten mph is a lot of loss.

I agree with this. I tried all lithiums in my 2022 Trx20 and didn’t really lose any speed.

need to measure ptp and see where you are, about 3 below is where I would start-- 1/4 increments are plenty until you find the new sweet spot -- use 24p fury first

You have another problem not related to the battery swap. You lose 2-3 mph at most with that switch. The sand trick would have fixed it. Better look elsewhere

My previous boat was a 20trx. A worked 26 tempest + worked best for me. I also had lithium trolling batteries.

It was a 2 stroke. I tried the worked 26 on my cx 20 caymas,(with a 250 pro xs v8) but it was a bit much. After several props I settled with a worked 25 tempest plus on it. Sorry for the confusion.

More trim.... Less weight in the back. takes more trim to get the boat out of the water. Less weight should equal more speed - all else being equal

Replicate your old set up exactly. Return tackle, JP, etc….to previous locations/ settings and add exact amount of ballast weight exactly where you lost it (as close as possible).

Then re-test. If it does not return to previous performance then it is your outboard or your prop.

If it returns to desired performance, add steel or aluminum bar (cut to size of battery trays) beneath your batteries. That is the best way to compensate for lifepo4 vs agm battery weight differences.
