Wet storage boxes on 195 TXW

I have a 2-year old 195 TXW, and love everything about it - EXCEPT, the storage boxes and the center rod box, do not stay dry. Have any of you figured a way to keep the storage boxes and the rod box dry? I live in FL, and it rains almost every day, during the summer. And, if I don't get wet fishing, it rains on my way home. It is more than annoying to deal with mildew and the accompanying odor. I have adjusted the compression latches until they are tight, and I have sealed the drain hose, and blown them out, and, they still won't stay dry.

I have the same issue on my 2017 195TXW TE. Had the same issue on my 175TXW. The aluminum drain channels are very shallow and overflow in the box. This is really my only complaint about the boat. I'm in Fla also so I know what you're going through.

Have you pulled back the carpet in the bins? I bet there's a bunch of gaps along the panels

The only thing to do to stop water from overflowing
into the boxes is to drill drain holes in the channel
that lets the water drain into the hull. LDS

Drilling holes would let even more water into the carpeted storage area. I need all the water to channel into the drain tube.
I wonder if foam weatherstripping would help??? Any water the drain tube couldn't handle would just overflow onto the already wet deck. HMMMMM?

I'm not familiar w/the construction of your boat. All
the boats that I have owned that had raised box lips,
the water channel is outside the perimeter of the box,
with drain holes and some w/attached tubes to drain the
    water into the hull.
I fail to understand why any company would design a boat
w/a carpeted storage box that has the possibilities of getting wet.
Poly or glass boxes w/raised lips and drains in the corners will
    eliminate the problem.
Carpeted boxes look good on the showroom floor but if not designed
to be totally dry they can be a real problem.
I have 4 big boxes in the front deck of my Tracker. One has a poly
liner and is 100% dry. The other 3 have carpet and no drain channels
and are a total waste of space when it rains.
My boat is a 2005. You would think 13 yrs later this
    problem wouldn't exist. LDS

It is a good question that why would you even bother to carpet the inside of the boxes. Mine has the vinyl deck and the compartments are still carpeted.

I ripped the carpet out of my 2008 PG SC and drilled some holes in the bottom. At least my carpets don't hold the water because they are in the dump. If I can find a sturdy plastic thi grid I would be tempted to cut most of the bottoms out of my compartments.

Give them another 40 years or 750,000 more boats, they'll figure it out
