I really like the red console's. Did you speical order them because I have never seen anything but gray console's in a white RT. Again nice touch.

Anytime you deviate from a process it creates work. A simple change can require change orders and the like that can require many people to touch. I do not know how they run their shop but if they are documentation driven I can see the additional cost as being NRE.
Transom, what does NRE mean?
Non recurring engineering. Even something simple can still require "engineering" or documentation overhead in a facility that uses a documentation driven quality system. If it is a one off the cost is generally passed on to the customer. I don it know if they run their shop that way but they could.
What happened to the "Still built one at a time" slogan? Is that just across the street now?
