Water Pressure on new V8 4 Stroke

I am working thru break in period on 225 Pro XS (2B575555). I'm up to 5 hours and the procedure allows for short 1 minute wot operation. Water pressure on smartcraft at 13.4 psi @ 5200. Should it be 15 like the Optimax ??

Mine is around !4 @ 5000 rpm and 28 @ 6000. What speed are you at 5200 RPM? At lower RPM and speed you can expect lower pressure mostly because of the ram effect being much less. Are you getting a reading from a analog gauge or an electronic gauge or a MercMonitor. I suspect you are fine.

They hooked up my old rectangular Smartcraft gauge on new motor. When making the 1 minute passes, I'd switch to different data metric.....and I'm sure all the 1 Minute runs were not exactly identical. Typical was 5150-5200 rpm, 60-62 mph, & only read water pressure once.
I had no overheating issues running 3.5 hours straight without even tuning it off...…..water pressure seemed low vs. History with Optimax. Maybe just a calibration for smartcraft.

After the first 2 hours the manual suggests to avoid full throttle for more than 5 minuets at a time, running WOT is good for break-in. Vary the throttle every five minuets or so.

My next trip I'm going to start the "less than 5 minute " second stage of break-in. I'm impressed so far with this engine....holeshot & midrange acceleration are strong.

In general, 15 psi (bare minimum) at WOT is recommended. Warnings trigger below 9psi @ WOT.

    1.5-3psi at idle.

Anything in between is just that- "in between".
