    Steady Cast help

Can anyone help me verify how to connect to one or multiple units?
If I'm only wanting to connect to one unit, can I plug directly into the NMEA port, or do I have to build a network?
My only experience with a heading sensor is humminbird and it uses the antenna port.

Also, will this only give me heading and not location? I was wanting to mount it near the console to use on the bow unit.
    Thanks in advance!

You will need to build a NEMA 2000 network. The SteadyCast will only give you heading information and not Location. What all displays are you running?

Here is mine-----almost. I have 3 units attached instead of 2.
Some NMEA devices like SteadyCast draw their power from the network while others like the fuel flow sensor require their own power source.

The NMEA starterkits are the way to go if you are starting from scratch.

So to clarify, the NMEA 2K needs to be connected to both chart plotters to be able to share Steadycast data between bow and helm units?

Yes, SteadyCast shares to all N2K networked MFDs.

    Final question ...

    Will the setup below function?
    From left to right...

Female Terminator / T with N2K power / T with Steadycast / T with drop cable to Echomap Plus 93sv / cable connecting directly to bow Echomap Plus 93sv

Not quite. See Leonard's diagram above. For the bow unit, you need to add a T at the end of that extension cable, drop cable from T to bow echomap, then a male terminator at end of T.

I did! My only option (because I'm impatient) was to buy a second "starter" kit from the local Basspro for $70. But at least I have spare parts should I decided to grow the network. I'm thinking of adding a GPS19x
