Why did they make the LiveScope transducer wire so short?

So I have a 52" Ultrex and by the time the transducer cable is run up the shaft and to the bow plate it's way to short to reach the console or even the back of the rod box. Throw in the fact this is a Ranger boat and WTH Garmin??

My installer calls them up and they say it may be a couple of months before there is an extension???

Do any of these folks fish?

?? Just be clear we are talking about the cable that is attached to the transducer, not the one that hooks into the network port.

From the transducer to the end of the cable is 12 ft. When i measure the run on my trolling motor it's about 8 ft or so. The 4ft left isn't enough to mount the box anywhere secure or even out of the way.

The problem with the length is this. The cable to the unit from PS22 on the TM runs up the shaft and around and then plugs into the unit on the front of the bow. The LVS32 cable makes the same trip but doesn't plug into that unit. It plugs into a black box that has to be put somewhere else. If you were trying to plug your PS21/22 into a unit on the dash or a box under the dash, it just might not be long enough.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

Why not the length of a regular transducer cable which I think is 20'?

Yep!! I will have a brand new Livescope, a 1242 and a black box on my deck........

Then I will have to extend the network cable and the transducer cable at more $$$$ ..........

They definitely didn’t think it through as this was a major PIA on my new Skeeter as I had to fashion a mount under the bow plate for the black box. If it was a foot longer then it would’ve reached my front storage compartment.
