CHAMPION 203 Elite
I have a 1998 Champion 203 Elite with a 1998 Yamaha 225, after every trip out fishing since January my fuel filter is 1/4 of the way filled with this sugar like material, I only use non ethanol fuel, could it be my fuel tank is breaking down? I took my boat to a very reliable mechanic and he said he's never seen this. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks!

Fuel lines have been replaced.

Hope you get this resolved.

There was a post a few days (or weeks) about a guy claiming someone put sand in his fuel tank. We all thought it was from the gas station, maybe you need to fill some 5 gallon cans and check them for this substance.

I would pump the tank out and change the lines.

Would definitely disconnect your hoses and clean the whole system.

Could be the pickup tube its a flexible plastic that lays over to the deepest part of the tank. I also have a 98 203, I'd go to the station buy couple gallons and pour into a large clear container and see what settles out. Also can you post a pic of the substance?

I would suspect sand from the gas station but without seeing it in person it's hard to say.
