Which setup for Ultrex on 921ProXP

I'm going to start shopping for an Ultrex for my 921ProXP. Which shaft length is popular? What other setups are recommended? has anyone gone from a MotorGuide to MK? Do I need to drill new mounting holes?
    Who has the best deal?

It's all personal opinion on length and you'll hear both. Personally I only use 52" shafts as I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. And I have needed it on Rayburn and Tbend. You'll definitely need new holes from MG to MK- hell, I needed a couple new holes going from Fortrex to Ultrex. As far as the best deal, I do not know.

I can tell you that on the northern waters I need the 52" on my 21 PHX - on 2' chop I was cavitating slightly even with that. However in addition to the waters you fish it also depends on how your boat is loaded and how much you weigh!

It does matter how the boat is loaded. Before I got the 15' talons a 45" worked fine on my 721. After I put them on the 45" will come out of the water in much less wave action and I cant walk to the back of the boat hardly at all before it comes out of the water

The i-pilot is a self contained unit that cant connect to a humminbird graph. The link version will connect to a humminbird graph and allow the follow the contour feature and you can control it from the graph. It also comes with a little better remote with a touch screen.

    NO

Its for Bird only as I understand. MK, Bird and the TM can all be linked up because they are all the same company/software. Its the reason KVD changed TM...aside from the TM being pretty bad ass.

Wait. The spot lock doesn't work without Humminbird? I thought it had internal gps of some sort.

ipilot link is for MK products.

The basics you want can be used with anything. The linking of everything is what you wont be able to use due to Lowrance.

Each model will still work independently the exact same. The only difference is the extra features you would get connecting the link version to a humminbird graph. I actually run a link version and I have lowrance graphs. It's just not linked to anything so it works the same way as a non-link model

    Another question.
How do I access the bottom of the trolling motor mounting bolts? Remove my electronics and reach? Or?

Basically. Yes. Have to reach through the hole in bow to get a wrench in there on the nut. Kinda sucks. Expect some glass in your arm.
