    Must do in Albuquerque?

Will be heading there in couple weeks. Visiting a friend in Las Cruces also. Any "must do" activities? Or "must go to" restaurants? Staying in
old town at the Hotel Albuquerque. Will be in the area for 5 days. Thanks.

I always liked Sadie’s for a brisket stuffed sopopilla(sp). Fork&Fig in uptown is a good burger joint. Go for a gondolla ride up to the top of the Sandia peaks.

Hike Pino Trail, which is an easy hike and has gorgeous views. You only need to hike a half mile or so to get to the first seats where you can look around and sit for a bit. If you don't want to hike, take the tram, which is just down the road from the Pino Trail.

Short drive to Jemez Pueblo and Jemez Springs. Have a bowl of hot green chile at Los Ojos and chase it down with a cold beer. There's hot springs around the area if you like that kind of thing. Keep going down the road and you'll hit Soda Dam, natural spring dam waterfall. Then continue on and you'll hit Valle Calderas and then Los Alamos. Continue on and you'll get to Santa Fe, then right back to Albuquerque. All this is about 6-7 hours, so a good way to burn a day and see the most of what Northern New Mexico has to offer for natural beauty.

As for food, many good places. My favorites are Casa De Benevidez and El Modelo. El Pinto, Sadie's and Los Cuates are also good. Just down from old town, you can get an excellent green chile cheeseburger from the Monte Carlo steakhouse.

If you are in old town, the aquarium is across the street and is an excellent couple of hours spent. Zoo is next door and is also really good.

The restaurants and stuff in old town are really good, but can be very pricey compared to getting to some of the other areas of town.

Of course you can always do the "breaking bad" tour of all the houses and go on the RV tour, I've heard that's a lot of fun....

If you like Mexican food, for sure hit Casa De Benevidez on 4th street, also Los Cuates. Take a ride on the tram up on the Sandia Mountains great views! There are also a few hot air balloon ride companies in town, sounds lie you will be here between the state fair and the Balloon Fiesta, so you should be able to get hotel room ok, and a ride in a balloon with out to much trouble.
