    Looking for deep crankin' reel

Man it's hard to find something in the 5: gear ratio these days. Doesn't seem too many companies still make them. Any suggestions?

I am a Shimano guy, but I have a Daiwa Tatula 150P on my deep cranking set up. Great reel and will cast a mile.

Lew's, Pfluger, ABU Garia, Diawa, Bass Pro make 5.***:1 low profile reels. Some in multiple price points Shimano makes 5.***:1 round reels.

Lews BB1. No magnetic brakes, simple, good spool capacity and casts a mile. $125 on eBay.

not a big Abu fan also not looking to go cheap. Granted I'm not looking to spend $400 on a reel that i wont use that much but i do want a nice reel.

An older Calcutta could do it; if you’re careful you can get a decent deal - which means $200s depending on age, model and condition

I'm die hard Daiwa, but they haven't made a deep cranking reel that I have enjoyed much yet. I would have to say my favorite thus far has been a Lews BB1 Pro 5 ratio.

I have a 13 Fishing Convept A that I bought off of a member, it’s 5.3:1 I believe. It casts incredible and has plenty of power in a very small reel. I use it for cranking or when I’m just plain fishing too fast and must force myself to slow down.

If you are casting 1/2 oz or heavier, with a longer rod...look for a Morrum M5600C. This is a friggin' rocket launcher even stock, and built like the proverbial tank...just change out the handle.

Daiwa CVZ 203 and 205 are awesome as well, and can be had in the $125 range.

Bought one of these in the 6.3:1 and love it. Best deal IMO for cranking reel.
