    2011 294 evo with 2019 evinrude etec g2 ( not HO)..Prop?

Hi Guys ...first time poster. long time viewer :)

just got a new G2 .and here's the present set up with a 6 inch manual plate...28 Raker HO,all holes open, 3.75 pad to prop, 1/2 gas tank, full livewell, 2guys, 1 talon...64mph@5900 rpm - I get that motor should come up some more but would appreciate some prop suggestion from anyone running similar...thinking maybe another 1/2 inch and a 27 tempest?...thanks for any feedback..great forum

Something is seriously wrong if you are only 64 MPH at 5900RPM turning a 28P prop. Thats some crazy slip going on or the gear ratio is way different compared to a G1.
Is the prop new or some used prop your trying? Also I am assuming the motor is a 200?

The G2's do not have 1.86 gears. I can't recall the exact number but I want to think it is low 2.something. The lower gear ratio is just one of the things that help give them the monster torque they are known for. I don't know what the OP's issue is. He did say it was a non HO motor but did not list HP. "Most" 294's run 200 HP but it was not specified so we can only assume a regular 200 is what he has. I would think a 200HO would push that rig into low 70 and regular 200 into upper 60's as a guess.

...Sorry guys, yes 200 hp g2 ...in chatting with another board member with similar set up, clearly I need to be at about 2 1/2 to 3 inches ptp and probably running a 26 Raker ..he was running a 25 Croxton and getting high sixties and not having to drive it...but was just curious if there were any other suggestions ( btw 28 Raker HO was brand new with all holes open). Thanks again!

So you're around 11% slip, not real bad but could be better. Full throttle RPM range is 5k-6k. I think you should raise the motor 1/4'' at a time and see what happens. Also, if the prop is used I would send it to Croxton for a tune up.
