    Prop Pitch Help

I have a 1996 Nitro 884 savage with a Mercury 150 efi bought boat used 10 yrs. ago when I lived in Kansas. It came with a 25p prop soon after went to Gunnison Colorado.Well at 7500' dropped to a 19p
Have moved back to my home state La. What will be the best prop for here a 21p or 23p.Max rpm for my motor is 5600,not looking for top speed as much as performance, cruising around at 4500-5000 rpm I do still run at wot but not long distance Would a 4 blade be better than a 3 blade.

I live in texas and also had an 884 savage and a 150 efi and I ran a 23P 4 blade 99% of the time and the only time I changed is when sent my prop in to get worked on. Had no problems. I have a 200 pro x.s. now and run a 4 blade prop on it. I'm a believer in the 4 blades due to summer being so hot and then in the winter in the ruff water seems as though you get better performance with them. So I'd go with what ever your comfortable with. Good luck!!

Thanks Larry....I am going to give the 4 blade prop a try,Found a SS 23p Solas for a bit over $300 going to think about it till tomorrow. The reviews sound good on Solas ready to go but not wanting to run the 150 with the 19p here in Louisiana.

23p is good choice for any Merc 150. Ive ran Quicksilver, Tempest, and had good results 5500-5700 around 54-56mph gps
