No they should not, if your having an issue take it to a dealer that could properly diagnose the issue and replace any parts needed under warranty. There are no manufactures that are going to allow people to do their own warranty work, thats what dealers are for.

Any rigging installed by a dealer when you buy the engine is covered under the same warranty as the engine so there is no reason to be changing them yourself.

Thought I would give an update. I just got boat back from a Evinrude dealer who could get it in to work on the issue I was having. They ended up replacing key switch panel and put a new wiring harness on it. It is working good as new now. Thanks for the help and advice.
