94 PII bass cat 200 vmax

I have a 94 PII bass cat that I just put a 98 Yamaha 200 hp 0x 066 Vmax. I set the boat up at 3.5" PTP running a 25P solas 4 blade right now. Hole shot was pretty descent at 3100 on break over. top speed was 62.7 at 5300 rpm. I have bought a new tach as I think that mine is not reading right. need some help figuring out what I need to do to make it run right.

You might post on the Basscat page to get some experienced answers, some long time Cat owners there.

That prop is sorry to say a turd.
Find a 25M Yamaha wheel and you'll see much better results.

    I don't think you'll be able to turn a 25 fury. Get the 25 M

A 25 tempest or a 25 m will be the best prop for you. Might try the 25 m at 3.25 under and see if it gains some rpms.

I was running the 25M at 3" and it was to high. I barrowed the prop so i can't run it again. As the guy several hours away.

Send the Tempest Plus to Ronnie Gilbert. 337-380-1437 He's the best in the business for BassCat boats. Overall, that's going to be your best 3 blade, IMO. But out of the box, most Tempest props need work. So do most Fury 3 props.

If you could get your hands on one, you might also try a Bravo 1 XS in a 26 pitch for a different 4 blade. You can run it a bit higher, hole shot will be great and midrange will be fantastic. But, you might lose a MPH or 2 on the top end, depending.

I will add that tjis tempest is and older model prop with out the adjustable pvs system. Prop needs to be rebuild and have some cup added to it.

Why add cup having it rebuilt to factory spec should drop your rpm's. There is a new 25" tempest for sale on the props 4 sale forum at the bottom of these pages.

I had a PII about your same model year (can't remember exactly) and the best prop I ever owned was a 4 blade Predator Eagle. Great prop, but they are no longer in business. Closest I can find now is a Bravo 1 FS/XS. Not as fast on the top end as the old Predator...
