    Good plan. Should tell you what's wrong.

    Got out on my friends boat with 93sv and ps21 (he bought it because he liked mine). His works great.

    Brought my 70dv and Ps21 with us and wired it to a separate battery.

    His unit with my transducer had same triangle object and bad pic that mine had.

    Plugged his ps21 to my 70dv and worked fine.

    So guess I need a new transducer. At least we narrowed it down.

    I really want to try the Ps21-TM but they are expensive with no deals i saw. Garmin said PS21 are discontinued.

    Good job MonteSS. Too bad about the PS21. Good part of it is that you know your 70dv is ok.

    Happy that your process of elimination has finally solved this riddle. I know that it is probably to much to ask for but with my thinking with you sending the defective unit back to Garmin and they testing to make sure that the TD is bad I would think that maybe not a free unit but some help in some way to get a new unit. It seems to me that you have been fighting this since it was still covered. Well good luck in what avenue you choose to go.

    So got the new PS21-TR from Garmin. Glad to say everything is working great again. Thanks all.

    So they warrantied the PS21 and sent you a new one?

    Ya. Was a couple months out of warranty but they saw the the probs and history in my files

    Yup Garmin customer service have all been good experiences for me.
