66 so far but the engine only has 50 hours on it, not close to being broken in, then running synthetic oil and lube will help out also!

Could you elaborate on the not being broken in at 50 hours?

Motor hasn’t loosened up, it has around 3000 miles on if it was a car.

Tight piston rings, crank bearings, rod bearings. its broke in to run it like you stole it but all the parts arnt loosened up in the motor.
The 20 hour break in period is just to let all the parts wear in. Its not as free turning as it will be in 100-200 hours.

I call total BS. You don't wear a motor in. The clearances are either right or wrong. No in between.

I’ve never heard of this either. Isn’t there certain specs that all of these parts are to be within to work properly??

Just saying as an engine runs it wears and gets easier and less friction. You will get better mileage from a car after 5-10k miles.

if your running at 60 mph, 25 hours is 1500 miles. Would you consider your car engine getting its best performance at 1500 miles on it!!

Youll get better mileage with synthetic oil than conventional oil just the viscosity will make a difference!

Call BS if you want I don’t care!!

Not sure about the new Mercury motors. The old carb and EFI motors would loosen up some where between 75-100 hours. You could feel the difference it would gain a few rpms, a little more speed, and you could even hear a different tone from the motor.
