I don't believe I've ever seen that parking lot empty before.
Damn.
To report any post you disagree with press Alt + F4.
That picture says a lot... Carp are hurting that economy.
I haven't been to KY lake in over 10 years and I definitely won't be going there ever again since those carp have spread like wildfire. Western KY won't be getting any of my "tourism money" ever again......

Sad situation there
My wife and I had one actually jump in the boat, scared her. She has no interest in going back. I’ve been going to Old Hickory when I make time to go. I know they are in there as well, but they don’t seem as thick...YET.
Coming to pickwick and guntersville ???
Its sad how bad it has gotten
Forgive my ignorance, but are stocked carp not sterile? Did DNR just stock too many? How can they spread like you all are taking about if they are?
Hey guys is it a dangerous deal with these things jumping or are they destroying the fishing itself? Ky Lake has always been a lake along with Guntersville that was on my bucket list...too bad about Kentucky.

These darn things are just going to spread and get worse. They started seeing them up in Minnnesota / Wisconsin about 10 years ago. So Lake Pepin, Lacrosse etc. will eventually be destroyed as well as the rest of the lakes on the TN river. Both the Bighead and the silver carp (jumping) are destroying these rivers. As far as the electro fence stopping them from the Great Lakes. The eggs somewhat float so if the current flows past the barricade they then have access.
I say infect them with the herpes virus like the geneticists created it will take a couple of years but its better than a total kill off
Guys here catch shad from the Ohio River and take them to Cumberland to fish for stripers... They're gonna show up everywhere eventually. No body of water is safe...
My understanding is that they were brought here by the catfish farming industry to control snails in their ponds. During flooding on the Mississippi River they escaped into the waterways... Watch this... Dan
