    Solas on a Yamaha

    I've got a Stratos 200 with a 225 Yamaha ox66. Currently running a 27m1. It runs 71.5 now at about 5700. I just bought this prop...

I'm new to changing props and trying to tweek setups. What would I need to run this on an ox66? What type of hub? It has pvs holes, should I start all open, all closed?

Thanks for the help, I know I've got a lot to learn.

Sorry I can't offer definitive advice. my limited research took me to a Solas Hub page which makes a recommendation regarding hub. I have a 200SHO and am also interested in these props. I fish shallow and run the engine high. I understand this prop really likes being run high but I have seen a lot of negative handling comments. Not sure what they are specifically talking about. No one has complained about speed and did hear 1 complaint from a prop repairman that the metal is soft and would not keep pitch. I find this hard to believe but who knows.
I would start with 1 plug out. Or take a cordless drill with you and drill 3/8 in holes in the plugs, one at a time, until you're satisfied. Easy and works. Don't have to pull the prop.
Please post your results. I am very interested!

I just put one on my FX20 but haven’t run it yet. I bought it on the recommendation of a former pro staff guy .that said they work great on my hull. He said 24 pitch is what I needed and will turn right at 6k rpm. Will post after I run it this weekend. Got it on eBay for $300.
