Yep if I keep it within the sonar pulse.

This is a 1/10 oz Ned jig with TRD. The upper return is the uni-uni knot for braid to fluorocarbon.

Not trying to hijack this thread but Wayne, which settings do you need to turn up on the Helix megas to see your jigs?

That is a first generation Helix 12 SI and using the default Sensitivity setting. Basically no adjustments but Chart Speed to get real time data recorded.
A MEGA unit should be no different for 2D sonar.

Screenshot is from a 998. It's frustrating when they look at it, but won't bite!

I ran across a school of fish yesterday where the fish IDs covered the screen from top to bottom and left to right. Yet, we never caught a single fish on spoon or dropshot. Very frustrating!

In my pic above it shows 170 kHz frequency on 2D. Not sure how or why it chose that frequency. I had Chirp turned off so my partner in the back seat could see the depths and fish on my console 998 while we fished. Guess 170 is the default in this situation?

Do any of the transducer choices besides Mega work on my Helix 10 DI Chirp Mega GPS G2N in this situation where I have the Helix networked with the 998?

You can change the Helix to HB 83/200 kHz and connect the Helix to the HDSI transducer. You can connect the Helix to a trolling motor built-in transducer and use the Generic 83/200 kHz setting.

Just scroll through all the choices you have in the Connected Transducer setting in the main Sonar menu.

The transducer's frequency capabilities has to match the setting you choose.

If my bow DI xdcr is plugged into the back of the Helix in the only xdcr slot available, how would I also connect my built-in trolling motor US2 xdcr cable?

    1. Unplug the DI transducer and connect the US2 in its place.

    2. Get a SIDB Y cable and connect the DI transducer and US2 transducer to the display.

Is the SIDB Y cable the same one I’m using on my 998 SI or the new Y cable needed for the Helix units?

Need the 9 M SIDBY cable for the MEGA DI units. Then the Connected Transducer selection would be DI 83/200 kHz.
