    Madison city / eureka

Going to fish these 2 lakes this week sometime. I've been on eureka before, madison city never. But, still would like to ask. Is there anything to look out for under the surface while running at the two lakes? I assume madison isn't a no wake lake?
Also welcome any tips or pointers pertaining to bass also.
    Thanks, james.

Madison is pretty small, not sure you even need to get on plane there to be honest with you.

I think it's about the same size as butler from my research. So no I probably dont. But do enjoy doing it if I'm out and able to.

Have not been on either this year, but nothing should be there to hit. You really can be all the way around Madison in a few hours if you keep moving.

Water is about 8-10" low as of last week.
There is no real reason to run on plane but if you do go way wide of the point in yellow...
all rock and very shallow farther out than you would think.

I would say both lakes compare pretty close to each other based on Qty & size as proved by KDWP electrofishing forecast.
I have not been to Eureka in forever because I avoid interaction with people like the plague.
Obviously they fish slightly different since Eureka is loaded with houses and docks most of the way around it. But it is 25 min closer.
Madison is a lake of two halves, the North & West side has very shallow, slow tapering, muddy bottom banks that extend quite a ways off shore. And the South side is mostly a rocky bottom.
I will say that of my 2018 trip Spreadsheet: Madison has been the most frugal with the least amount of bass caught of all lakes fished.
Good luck with whichever one you end up choosing.
