Ever watched the heavier glass rigs going on the trailer and noticed how few hook the nose strap before the person in the truck pulls them out of the water? I did it all the time when I had a heavier glass rig. My buddy does it all the time and never lost one on the ramp, his uncle who's an FLW pro does it all the time. Hell pretty well all the pros get pulled out without hooking the strap. The problem is when going down the road and that boat starts to bounce backwards off the trailer.

Now with a tin rig you DO NOT want to get anywhere near an incline without hooking the nose strap. I had already been warned about it on here in the tin boats forum but when I pulled up to the ramp for the first time with my brand new Tracker the guy in the office came out and told me how easy Trackers slide off the trailer and to never go in or out of the water without the nose hooked. He knew my launch habits so just watching my back.

Think he needs to back further towards the ramp before attempting a high speed power load... didn't quite make it.

Yes he could have but I was referring to the post I quoted where he was talking about people who do it on purpose.

It doesn't take two seconds for the tow vehicle driver to put the truck in park set the E brake, when the boat hits the bow roller snap on the bow hook and tighten the winch and get back in the truck and pull out while the boat driver shuts the outboard down and tilts it up. yep pure lazy.

It's the awesome power of that toyota, it snatched that trailer right out from under the boat.
