    150 optimax

I have a mercury 150 optimax 2013, it is used 20-30 times yearly mostly on a small 10 mph lake. Had a trailer issue which caused the boat to sit unused from June 20 until August 16, took it out and had one 4 beep alarm. Happened again the next time out. Oil is full. I wonder if my boat sitting during this really humid summer could have caused water separation and caused an alarm for water in fuel. Was considering draining water from the filter. Suggestions? Thoughts? Looking to address this myself as I have lost valuable time this summer. Serial #2B009093

+1- the above link is the only accurate means of knowing what is causing the warning horn (unless you have a Smartcraft Instrument providing you the info at the time it occurs).

Likely not water in fuel, if there was, the alarm would sound as soon as key is turned to "on". Need to do as suggested in the linked topic.
