    The Dock Key

A guy I work with told me about The Dock Key which is owned by a guy in NC. Looks like a very useful tool for guys that tie off to docks a lot. I have not used them but thought it was a pretty cool concept. Website below:

Great idea. Could have used it a few days ago. The dock had very few cleats and was almost too wide for my Boat Hook to reach across.

I just bought one on Amazon. They also have packs of 1/2/4 all with free shipping if you are a Prime member.

Yeah, way too high for what it is. If a 3 pack was like $25 they would probably sell a bunch but for $20 each I can get creative with some rope. It is a really cool idea though.

Anyone received their Dock Key yet?

I have not received mine nor an answer to email I sent asking if I would receive a tracking number or notice when it ships.

They did charge my card as soon as I placed the order.

I have mine. Two days, but I bought it through my Amazon Prime account.

They may have had a bit of a rush of orders as the story spread around the net last week. I, personally, put it on two fishing sites in addition to seeing it on this site first.

It is smaller than the picture led me to believe, but that is better for my purposes. I intend to tie a light dock line on it permanently.....and leave it set up on one side of my tinny. That way, when the need is there, it will be ready to replace my normal dock line(s).

I like your idea about the permanent light dock line. Think I will do the same on my Xpress.

This isn't a new idea. The Davis Portable Dock Ring has been around since the early '90s...

They can be found for less than $20 ea. online.
