    Ardent reels and rods

A buddy of mine is on ardent pro staff and he's about talked me into changing over to the reels. I've been using Revos for last 6-7 seasons and was about to buy all new reels anyway. So how many of you guys use the reels and how to you like them? He's also trying to get me to swap over to the rods but I doubt I'll go that route because I love my hammers. Does anyone use the rods? How do you like them? Thanks

Not me but had a friend that owned 6. They spent more time on a UPS truck than in his boat.

    Garbage.

Stick with the main companies: Shimano, Daiwa, Abu Garcia and Lew's.

I repaired and cleaned reels for 10 years and got to see the guts of all brands of reels. I strictly use Shimano now.

    Good luck

Buy yourself a Daiwa Tatula and then show your buddy what a quality reel feels like.

Don't even think about it. Bass Pro Shops Qualifiers are much better reels, and the upper end Johnny Morris, Lews, Diawa and Shimano just blows them away.

Imo there are 2 brands of reels, shimano and daiwa. Everything else tries to throw new ideas and wild colors to keep up with those 2 and doesnt. Im not knocking abu or lews, but top to bottom shimano and daiwa blow them away. Ardent is a step below everything else and frankly i wouldnt give $10 for one.
They aint got hands, set the hook

Got one in a raffle...It was great until I set the hook on a solid one skipping docks...Bent something real good inside the housing, think the spool arm...I'll sell it to you real cheap haha.

A great reminder as to why I only buy Shimano.

Flowers says the only people using Ardent reels are the pro staff members. Not difficult to get on from what I hear. I’ve never even used one.

Almost ordered some, decided on Shimano Nasci instead. Should be here for the weekend.

Looks like you'll have to get a new friend. Apparently BBC members aren't quite sold on Argent.

Kinda like Okuma.....why spend money on it?
Shimano or Daiwa. I have both, but would put shimano first. Tatulas are good, but still prefer curados.

Pro staffers will pump sun into their brands. Abu to Ardent is not a move upward. If you switch brands Shimano or Daiwa are the only ones that are better in my opinion. Abu and Lews are similar in quality and value.

Even at his "Pro Staff" discount, he paid too much for them.
