Anyone have a DIY Z7 Glovebox Idea?

The thing has pretty much crapped out now. I discovered that the plastic at all the screw points is cracked... on the mounting rim and at the hinge. I wish I had known that they all weren't hard to open from the factory and that mine was defectively installed before the warranty expired. The replacement is $274 according to the tracker parts list. Have any of you DIY'd a new lid for the box? Anyone know who the manufacturer is?

I replaced my bow panel that was made of the same material with a cutting board like someone else here did and think that it looks better than the original trim. Hoping one of you has figured out how to make a cutting board lid for the glove box.

I ordered a $90 replacement lid (tracker part) from a parts supplier. It's one of 3 left in existence. I guess it would figure that the lid isn't even centered in the mounting ring and so right off it binds when opening it. Guess I won't bother trying to marry it to the liner.
