Alrighty Then. JM and Murderer Sued by Guns Rights Group

    https://www.news-leader.com/story/ne...gun/976767002/

If you dig around, apparently the group behind the lawsuit is The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

Ouch...sold to someone with a felony conviction over the phone and shipped it. Not going to be easy to explain away, just the fodder the anti-gun people want to use against gun owners.

I'd think there'd be easier ways to kill someone than using a muzzle loader. But yes the laws in the state weren't followed.

Due to the time frame, I doubt BPS nor Morris can be held accountable for this.

California doesn't either. One could kill someone with a sling shot too.

Muzzleloaders are not considered firearms under the federal firearms act. No paperwork needed and can be ordered quite easily. I dont know what the state law is where this occurred though

Since BPS bought Cabelas they became the parent company, any lawsuit against Cabelas is against BPS. No different than if you sued Lincoln due to some issue with their car the parent company Ford would be facing the suit.

I shot a small bird with a walnut and killed it too. Buried it before my parents saw.

Wasn't Lincoln always under the umbrella of Ford? Cabelas until now was never under BPS umbrella.

I would think they had to assume some liabilities with the purchase.

Cabelas employee making 10 bucks an hour isn't worth suing. They are going after the deep pockets.

Gun control B.S. go back to the orginal sale with all the paperwork. He was a felon think he gave accurate information to the sales person? They only know what they were told and if the information checked out it was a legal sale by the store.

As has been said, you can buy black powder guns without a background check, through the mail, it's legal. This is just another attempt at thwarting the second amendment.

If they only did this much research into each of the shootings in Chicago all the lawyers would be busy for 1000 years
