    BuzzBait Rod?

First time this past week fishing a buzz bait. Used a 3/8oz Hack Attack ToadBuzz fishing on a 7 foot MH Rod with 7.1 casting reel.

It's hard to describe but it felt really heavy like it took effort when casting and could definitely feel it in my forearms. Is this fairly normal for buzz baits or am I not using the right rod setup?

    Thanks,

    Robert

Sound like a normal set up Rob. Don’t know what rod you’re using

You might be a little underpowered on your rod.. One manufacturers MH is a M or a H to another.. Same Q as above - What rod are you using?

Also, scroll down to the Toad Rod posts, the same rod that makes a good toad rod usually makes a good buzzbait rod.

St. Croix LTB Sweeper Spinnerbait rod is all I use any more. 7’0” Medium Heavy Modified Fast action. Perfect action for buzzbaits, larger spinnerbaits in open water, or chatterbaits. Matched to a Lew’s Super Duty 8.0:1 reel with 25# Sunline Super Natural mono.
Thr only issue I’ve had is getting the rig back when I let friends try it out during a fishing trip.
