    2000 Johnson 150 carb rebuild?

I have a 2000 Johnson 150 (J150PLSSC) that is leaking around the bottom carbs. My questions are:

    1. Is this worth doing myself? I have rebuilt carbs before but it was older 88spl but I don’t know how much more technical this would be.

    2. How much time would this take?

    3. Best place for parts?

    Thanks for the help.

Yes, basically the same as the 88spl only you have one carb throat.

    2. How much time would this take?
First one maybe an hour the next one 30 minutes
    3. Best place for parts?
Check your local dealer for pricing and availability. Otherwise there are various parts houses online. www.boats.net www.marineengine.com make sure you order both the carb kit and the carb bowl. When replacing the carb bowl remember to transfer the high speed orifice from the old bowl to the new one they don't come with them.

Do you think it would be beneficial to rebuild all the carbs or just the ones that are leaking or causing problems?

That is totally up to you and your wallet. If it was my motor I'd do all six.
