    2008 225 hpdi

So I'm going to do my best to describe this...2008 hpdi 225... I have changed the plugs, vst filter , water / fuel sep filter & threw new primer bulb on for the heck of it. So my engine is acting up a little here. When I start it the first time it will idle and not shut off but its pretty rough still, now if you take off and run to your first spot shut down and fish then go to fire it back up it will not start without giving it 1/4+ throttle then once you fire it up like that you gotta do it the rest of the day like that each time you move. if you start it that way and then let off the throttle it will usually die if not the rpms get so low and rough sounding it just isn't right. it will run from 5mph or so(sorry don't know exact rpms) and faster what seems to be perfect. I think its a simple fix but cant narrow it down. unless anyone knows what idle should be set at I can look at tach gauge next trip and see how far off or on it is. thanks

See my post below ...I guess like mine it needs to be sync and link from your dealer to adjust TPS and get it @ 700 rpm idle and in gear. Mine is @ 450-500 and barely idles and in gear sounds like it’s coming apart.

I'd probably replace the lift pumps (low pressure fuel pumps) to eliminate those. 6E5-24410-03-00kit

Could just raise the idle speed by adjusting the cable at the hot foot and see what happens. Cables do stretch over time. Lift pumps are an easy install. Might be a good idea to replace them
if they haven’t been changed out yet.
