    Nitro Z7 power drain

I forgot and left my main power switch on last time I went out. Apparently two and half weeks was enough to drain the batteries. I don't have anything turned on so I'm wondering what would have drained them. You guys ever had this problem?

Yes I did last year while working on my graphs. Just the acc mode is enough to drain because it fires the fuel pump and instrument lights. Also puts power to all the switches. My merc moniter lights up while in acc mode

He's talking about his 'flip' main power switch. Not his outboard key-acc mode.

Power switch still runs all the gauge lights ?

Never seen the master power switch operate the lights on the dash, it only operates the accessories that is hooked to the fuse panel

    Power Poles?

If not, and you truly have nothing powered on, I would say you have a bad battery.

Pretty sure the GPS puck draws power when the master is on, (if wired that way).

LSS2 in some cases draws power and the ECU on your motor.

Yep all of those things can draw juice. That is a good reason to keep the charger plugged in so if you forget the switch you will still be good to go.

Should not be wired that way. Should install a trip breaker to avoid such problems.

Power Poles should also be wired to a flip breaker. These will drain batteries actually pretty quickly.

I highly recommend to install electronics to a breaker as well. Usually on the same breaker as the GPS puck as described above.

Several things have a parasite draw on a battery even when the device is off. The best way to eliminate a dead battery from a parasitic draw is buy having a battery disconnect. This should be on the + cable and inline before any item that can draw current except for the auto bilge pump. It needs to be able to get power in case you get water in your boats hull while the boat is unoccupied. ALL other items need the be disconnected from the battery via a disconnect switch. As someone previously mentioned the most common thing that is a parasite amp draw is a GPS antenna. They have a very high parasitic draw. Boat motors with computers also have a small parasitic amp draw. I am talking milliamps not amps...but a long enough milliamp draw on multiple things can drain a battery. If you don't have a battery disconnect then I suggest one. If that's more than you want to tackle then I at least suggest all your graphs/GPS are on a switch that is NOT part of the master power circuit. Isolate them and put them on their own individual switch.
