Got to run a bird yesterday

    13357.jpg13358.jpg

Yesterday I had the opportunity to drive a brand new Phoenix 921 with the new Mercury 250 4-stroke. Was very impressed with the motor and it really has a great sound. There was half a tank of gas, me and nothing else in the boat. Made it to 74gps and then it got real squirly and scared the crap out of me. I have never ran a boat with a hydraulic jackplate and was just wondering what I might have been able to change to keep that from happening. It was down lower in the water almost on its lowest setting at 4 according to the gauge.

Those of you who own one, have very nice boats and someday might have to have one myself. Mine is 20 years old and just about broke in, so it might be time to upgrade.

You had the motor to low. It's going to walk when you get up that fast but having the motor higher will help.

This. Birds need weight, especially in the rear.
