Installed a point one, how to calibrate it?
What is the procedure? Echomap plus 73SV, x2, four mounts. All four mounts connected to NMEA 2000 network.
Will this need to be done on each mount? Or only each MFD?
Just got it all connected, powered it up, the units recognized the sensor and I appeared to be pointing the correct direction.

Lowrance Point 1???? Although its a N2K component I would think that it would only be able to calibrate it on the lowrance unit......i know for lowrance, you calibrate it from one unit only and thats it it shares info across the network.

Thank you. With any luck I'll get it out tomorrow. Weather man calling for storms through the night, into the am. We shall see.

IT worked flawlessly, calibration does not appear necessary. WOW what a difference! Can now see how you "camp" on a spot. I set a waypoint, dropped a buoy, backed off, unreal.
Fisin coullion- if I remember correctly, chart screen- settings- GPS- pick your sensor or use internal. Sorry, I'm not in front of the unit to do it. I had it on head up.

I was talking about the unit using just the heading sensor....that's the part that needs to be calibrated.

I have a point one on my Solix units. Per my installer, " If's it's mounted correctly in the first place calibration isn't needed."
Correctly meaning tested for magnetic interference on the water before attaching it permanently.

I didn't test for magnetic interference on the water, didn't know about that, I did test on the land though. With a handheld compass, everything operational also. Engine, trolling motor, graphs.

You can Calibrate a Point-1 without using the Lowrance GUI.
In fact gen1's did not have the calibration GUI. There was a lowrance release note on how to calibrate manually (it may be still in the installation manual).
You could also look at the heading data while calibrating. On Lowrance you could go into your point-1 data information or vessels and ad an overlay for heading.
The first 360 degree rotation within the set time the data should go invalid on lowrance units this would be --- if using heading degree overlay. (this indicates the Point-1 has entered into calibration mode). Continue with another 360 rotation the data should come back indicating calibration completed.
You also can do a calibration by hand off the water. I have done it many time goofing around.
But unless there is an obvious issue, there is no need to calibrate, mine was good out of the box. Calibration only realigns the internal chip with the arrow on the puck nothing more.
Calibration is stored in the Point-1
