we keep saying that about boats and vehicles, but people keep on buying them so it wont stop. They figured out people worry about the monthly note and not the total price much less the total price plus interest, so the loaners just extend the loan to keep the note in check.

I made the switch over to Aluminum and went with the Crestliner PT20. As big as many glass boats out there at 20 1/2 foot with a Merc 200. For the lakes I fish in Ohio it fishes as good as any glass with trolling motor down. Several days a year on Lake Erie it has handled big water fine. I can tell you it has been much cheaper to not only run but to tow than my Ranger 461.

I ordered mine without electronics and came in just under 34K. I think now price has went up and maybe around mid-thirties.

    Worth a look..

I’m nothing more than a weekend angler. Fish maybe 3 tournaments a year with my girlfriend and I’m picking up my 2019 Saturday. It’s peace of mind knowing your equipment has a warranty and is in top notch condition when fishing far away from home or big water

Another boat price thread. Bottom line, there are multiple factors that play into pricing. It's not just the big bad companies being greedy, like most here seem to think.

Plenty out there in the 35-45k range. The Triton 189 TRX and 18TRX, the Nitro z18 and z19 are great values. The Phoenix 618 and 619/819.

The Vexus 2080 starts at 39K. What comes with it IDK but that seems like a pretty damn good price.

bring a 18' boat to a lake like Lake of the Ozarks on a busy day and your a bath toy. sure an 18' boat is cheaper but not the best for everyone. I couldn't have an 18' boat just because of my wife and 2 kids and the room.
and 45k for a 18' boat is nuts. I bought my 20' boat in 07 new for 45k. sure prices are always going up but that's just nuts. not for this guy ill keep my junk together as long as I can and go from there prob by another 10 year old boat if I even buy another one at all.

Im beggining to believe that the outfitters are the issue and not the boat builder? Charger 198 Elite (boat only 32k) with trailer and 225 pro xs 56,000????? Maybe buy a nice new one and mount a 40 johnson on it and tell everyone how bad it is? haaaaaaaaaaaa
joking of course fellas, just alot of money and as far as warranty? that doesnt last 12-15 years so could care less about it. Just didnt ever think this sport would get outta reach to be competeive on a local level. If ya need me Ill be in a 87 Champion

I'm thinking it's just market forces at work. Bass boats are more popular today than in the past (weekend angler, wanna be's, ). Factor in that the boat and motor you buy today is light years ahead of what was available 20 years ago. Some of it is inflation. The $20K you spent in 1996 is equivalent to $33K today. There seems to be plenty of boat makers, so the competition is there. Couldn't it just be primarily the law of supply and demand causing the high prices?

No. What drives the price of a boat up is what is now included in the packages. I bought my first skeeter in 1986. It was a great boat but bare bones. It had a motor and trolling motor and steel wheels. No electronics, no gauges no fancy seats or steering wheel etc. My new Skeeter is loaded who knows maybe it might even be able to drive itself. I'm hard pressed to think what it doesn't have. You need the same in cars, remember when most people bought cars with no AC and power door lock and Windows were reserved for the rich.

It's the market place and they are giving us what we want.

Boats are not investments. Just buy what you want and if price is a factor there are a lot of great used bass boats.

I bought a used bass boat and for me I couldn't be more happy. I bought much more boat for the money than what I could have bought new for the same price.

A guy on another con for sale web site had a 2018 Ranger Icon for sale $100K, OBRO this boat had every thing that you could possibly put on a boat. This guy replies with a smart remark (Quote)(That moment you realize you spent way to much on a boat you can’t afford!!! 100k on a boat!!! Straight amazes me that people think they spend more on a boat is going to catch more fish!! I’m sorry this just insane!!). Little did he know that the guy paid cash for the boat and could buy 3 more just like it and not even bat an eye. He got ripped pretty good on that site.

Something else to add, I know we all pay cash here but when financing shop around. You can save thousands by checking interest rates.
