    Rain gear

Looking to buy some rain gear recommendations as for as what brand everyone likes
wanting something that I will be able to put a few layers under it for winter time and not break
the bank but I don't know if that is possible.is there a brand that is easier to
move in that doesn't make me fell like the Michelen man.

Honestly, a good suit is going to break the bank. I bit that bullet last winter and got some guidewear and I really like it.

Look into the H20 Academy brand. It's not huk, but for the money, it's pretty good.

You can get guidewear that’s insulated and not however the price for the jacket is the same either way. Guidewear is a good choice and if you do get the non insulated one you can wear it in the spring time too and just layer up in the winter. Looking at $500-$600 for jacket and bibs

Or go Simms and never look back at about $1200 for jacket and bibs.

You can get Carhartt for under $400 total, and I've heard great things about it.

BPS 100 mph is usually $200 off around black Wednesday. Still about $400 for the set.

Speaking of Simms. Over on TFF there is a guy selling another rainsuit that is supposedly goretex and looks EXACTLY like the simms for a fraction of the price. I think its limit fishing or something like that. I haven't seen one in person but some guys have bought them so it may be worth a look. If its goretex urs good

My only comment on this issue is "You get what you pay for". I have resisted the need to spend $300, $400, ....for a rain suit but after several tournaments in early spring where you are soaked to the bone and you start to shiver I finally decided to spend the money. I purchased Huk rain gear and I am very pleased with the results. Only question I have for any rain suit manufacturer is "Can someone make a sleeve that does not allow water to run down my arm"?

Gill, Gill, Gill. I have had the rest and Gill is not as expensive as some of the others mentioned but it lasts and has kept me dry for the last four years.

I have an old set of bibs and jacket I purchased at Cabelas over 15 years ago and it still works great. The sleeves have a half glove (open finger tips) and this keeps the water from running up your arm even when running the boat a 70+. Not sure if they still sell them or not.

I'd recommend guideswear, but would HIGHLY recommend that whatever you get, it be gore tex.

I got a set of carhartt this year and I really like it so far. I had a 100mph suit for 10 years and it was a great suit but more money.

Ditto. Light enough for all seasons and easy to layer under in winter months.
