Switching from Verado 300 to 300 G2?

Howdy,

I am considering a new boat (same as my current model just newer) and am curious what are the major differences I will notice in switching from an L6 verado 300 Pro to 300 G2? Obviously its going from a 4 stroke to a 2 stroke, however, are there noticeable difference in holeshot, top end, sound, steering, etc?

My primary interest is improved fuel economy and better top end, however, I am not sure if that is attainable, especially since I would be deciding between the G2 and new V8 Verado as options moving forward.

My 225hp G2 has taken every outboard from hole shot to a couple miles out to date. 250 Pro Xs and 250 Sho's have not been a problem. I haven't went against a Verado yet.
After a couple miles they can catch me but i'm running an old 520 Ranger. These guys are running newer everything else.
Fuel economy is about like every outboard if you're running WOT. Top end every brand is probably equal.
