Question Out of state boat purchase- MS sales tax?

If I purchase a boat from out of state how does the sales tax work for MS? I’ve purchased one before but I can’t remember how it worked. Do you only pay tax when registering the trailer? If so, should I just get a bill of sale for both the trailer and the boat?

If you buy from a dealer you pay taxes when you register it. If you buy a used boat from an individual there is no sales tax.

Generally if the taxes were paid somewhere (state). I have never paid on out of state boats if the boat had been registered and bill of sale was generated.

No sales tax to pay unless you buy from a dealer.
