Put the 1st Redfish in the new RT188

Took out the RT188 in the bay for the 1st time, and she handled the salty stuff awesome. We fished shallow all morning, and the RT had no issues getting in and out of areas we wouldn't take a glass boat. We put 10 reds, 1 flounder, and several inmates in the boat fishing from 7:30 - noon, before pulling out for the day. The first RT188 Red is in the pic below, it was a beast!

Congrats! Sounds like a good day! Can’t stand those convicts stealing my bait...I have always sucked at fishing for them!

To catch those convicts, on a consistent basis, it all comes down to the hook that you use... We use the Owner Inshore Slam K Hook in size #1, it is an excellent hook for live shrimp under a popping cork. You definitely want a smaller hook, and we have found that this size also works great on Reds, Specks, and Flounder.

Very nice!...I've got the galvanized trailer on my Triton, but do have carpet. Wonder how the boat would handle the salt?
